Flood Relief Efforts for Cherry Road Informal Settlement

On the 26th of October, the CityHope Disaster Relief team was on the ground, bringing aid to the Cherry Road Informal Settlement in Clairwood, KZN, where hundreds of homes were partially damaged by flooding. Though none of the homes were completely destroyed, the flood left a devastating mess—mud-filled interiors, damaged furniture, and spoiled food, leaving many families in need.

CityHope Disaster Relief distributed maize and Hope Kits to assist 107 households, reaching a total of 210 individuals affected by the flooding. The kits included essential items to help residents begin cleaning and recovering, along with nutritious food supplies to ease the burden during this difficult time. Our team offered not only practical relief but also words of encouragement, aiming to restore hope and bring smiles back to those who have faced so much.
