Malawi Drought Response

CityHope Disaster Relief, in partnership with Rev. Litchowa and Life Child, extended critical aid to communities in Malawi facing severe drought and the aftermath of Cyclone Freddy. In Blantyre, Nsanje, and the Baluti community, more than 300 aid packages containing maize, soya, cooking oil, and sugar were distributed to support over 570+ individuals, making a significant impact in these areas.

In the face of heartbreaking drought conditions, CityHope Disaster Relief continues to extend a lifeline to those in desperate need. Working closely with Rev. Litchowa, our team distributed essential food supplies to support 200 individuals impacted by the drought.

The distribution included vital food items such as maize and soya, which are crucial for sustaining the affected communities during these challenging times. The drought has left many without adequate food supplies, and our intervention aims to alleviate some of the immediate hunger and distress faced by these individuals.

The collaboration with Rev. Litchowa and local community leaders was instrumental in ensuring that the aid reached those who needed it most. Their support and dedication were vital in organising and executing this successful distribution.

We are deeply moved by the resilience and strength of the communities we have had the privilege to assist. The gratitude expressed by the recipients of the food relief reaffirms the importance of our mission and the impact we can make together.

CityHope Disaster Relief remains committed to supporting and uplifting communities facing hardships. Our ongoing efforts in Malawi are a testament to the power of solidarity and the importance of providing timely assistance to those in need.

CityHope Disaster Relief joined hands with Life Child to bring much-needed support to the Baluti community. Our visit to the Life Child Malawi Moyo Pre-school was a heartwarming and impactful experience. Here’s a glimpse of our day:

Purpose: Providing food relief in response to the ongoing drought.
Beneficiaries: 170 individuals from the Baluti community.
Aid Delivered: Maize, cooking oil, and sugar.

Our team enjoyed a wonderful ministry time with Life Child’s team, including a lunch meeting with the Pastor who leads the organisation. The food distribution went smoothly, and we were blessed to share a worship service and a sermon with the community.

This partnership exemplifies our mission to come alongside local churches and organisations to bring hope and practical aid to those in need. Together, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by disasters.

Thank you to Life Child and everyone who made this possible!
