Cyclone Freddy Response in Mozambique and Malawi
In February 2023, a devastating cyclone wreaked havoc in Mozambique and Malawi, causing substantial damage and leading to numerous homes and infrastructure collapsing. The disaster was followed by an outbreak of Cholera, malaria, and other diseases, creating a critical need for immediate aid.

In February 2023, a devastating cyclone wreaked havoc in Mozambique and Malawi, causing substantial damage and leading to numerous homes and infrastructure collapsing. The disaster was followed by an outbreak of Cholera, malaria, and other diseases, creating a critical need for immediate aid. In response to this dire situation, CityHope Disaster Relief sprang into action, providing essential assistance to 400 affected individuals with the assistance of the Life Child International Trust. Parcels were distributed to every child at Life Child’s Peace School in Namuinho and The Okalawo School in Gogone in Mozambique, consisting of:
- 391 Water Buckets
- 391 Jugs and a bottle of water purifier
- 20 boxes of Soap
- 16 boxes of Powered Detergent
- Colgate Toothpaste & Toothbrushes.
Food parcels were purchased for the families in Malawi, consisting of:
- 32 x Maize Flour
- 80 x Cooking Oil
- 37 x Sugar
- 80 x Boxes of Soap
