Londonderry Informal Settlement Fire Response
On Monday, 3 October, 200 shacks were destroyed as fire ripped through Londonderry Informal Settlement in Durban. It is assumed that a stove, left unattended, was the cause of the fire. The fire left approximately 1000 individuals destitute, without belongings or shelter.

STATUS OF RESPONSE: RESPONSE COMPLETED
In response to this crisis, we visited Londonderry Informal Settlement on two separate occasions and distributed HopeKits, maize, washbasins, blankets, mattresses and pots to the affected families.
