Pinetown Traders
Pinetown, Kwa-Zulu Natal | 25 July 2019Approximately 300 traders in Pinetown, KZN, lost their stock to a fire that spread from the railway line through their storage facilities on Thursday 25th July 2019

Overview
The local councilor overseeing that region drove through to the Robin Hood Foundation Conference at CityHill Church to seek assistance and was approached by CityHope who shared their willingness to support. The following day City Logistics arrived to transport the stock to the Town Hall in Pinetown where the vendors had been gathered. CityHope was able to support the 200 vendors that were present by providing a Hope Kit, a packet of new clothing, a pack of toothpastes and some extra meals from Rise Against Hunger. The City Logistics team was very generous with their time as they assisted us with the distribution and then returned the remaining stock to the premises in Hillcrest.
There was media coverage on East Coast Radio as well as in the Highway Mail regarding this incident and the work that CityHope was doing in support of the community.
