Durban informal settlement fire leaves scores homeless. Around 200 people have been left homeless after 80 shacks were destroyed in a fire in Sea Cow Lake, north of Durban yesterday.

CityHope Disaster Relief is sending 300 blankets and clothing items to help those in need.

Our action response team visited the informal settlement and distributed the 300 blankets along with some clothing items – to which the community was really thankful. We will be monitoring the situation closely in the next 48 hours and see how we can respond further.
