The Challenge
It’s South Africa’s shame. It flies in blatant disregard of the Biblical injunction to love thy neighbour. It’s xenophobia – which appears to have had its epicentre in Durban. And it’s impossible to ignore the vicious outbreaks erupting around us. Outbreaks that have left countless foreigners homeless and dispossessed, as even their very belongings have been destroyed.
Response
CityHope distributed some 450 Hope kits in the greater Durban area. Each Hope kit can sustain an individual for 20 days and includes vitally needed food, blankets which are imperative with the onset of winter, toiletries and more.
